Available in a wide variety of different colors, including pink, yellow, green and blue it is often treated to ensure it does have a blue color. Allochromatic, impurities, and imperfections are the cause of the colors found in topaz. The name of the stone is derived from ‘tapas’ which is the Sanskrit word for heat. It is one of the most popular gemstones due to its hard form and stunning colors. It is also widely available.
