One of the most common gemstones, quartz actually describes a family of different stones. There are a variety of different versions of quartz, many of which we have mentioned. This includes citrine, agate, and amethyst. Sought after in a range of different colors including mint, rose and brown, the gemstone is composed of oxygen and silicon. It is one of the most common minerals in the Earth’s crust, behind the only feldspar.
