Morganite
Morganite
This is the pink variety of beryl. The color is created when a slight level of manganese enters the structure of the crystal. The stone received its name from George Kunz. It was named after his friend J.P. Morgan who also happened to be a gem collector. Morganite has a distinct level of pleochroism. As such, for fashioning, it is necessary to carefully orientate the rough.
